Description
The bombed and derelict Grand Hotel is one of a number of former luxury hotels standing abandoned in the town of Kupari in Croatia. In the 1960s Kupari was a luxury resort for the military elite of the time, and their families. Heavy shelled during the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s the former luxury hotels of Kupari now stand derelict and abandoned, heavily pock-marked with bullet and shell holes.

David, while I hate to see once-grand hotels & homes abandoned and ravaged by time & nature, your photography offers them new life in such a lovely haunting way. Would love to get my hands on this building in order to restore it to its former beautiful self!

Thank you Brooks for your very kind comments. Croatia is a beautiful country with lovely people, but sadly there are still lots of reminders there of the war in the 1990s, very sad.
