Description
Preserved steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman is crossing Ribblehead viaduct, heading north to Carlisle. The viaduct carries the famous Settle-Carlisle railway across Batty Moss in the Ribble Valley. Built between 1870-1875 the structure is 440 yards long, 104 feet high, and has 24 spans. The viaduct is a grade 2 listed piece of architecture, and over 100 men were killed during it's construction.
