Description
The Royal Border Bridge spans the River Tweed at Berwick upon Tweed in Northumberland. The bridge is a Grade 1 listed building constructed between 1847-185, when it was opened by Queen Victoria. The bridge is 659 metres (2,162 ft) long and has 28 arches each spanning 18.3 metres (60ft).
Berwick Upon Tweed sits at the mouth of the River Tweed and is the most northerly town in England, located only 2.5 miles from the Scottish border.
