About David Birchall
Originally from Manchester in England, but now live near the foot of the Pennines, regarded as one of the most scenic areas of outstanding natural beauty in Great Britain. It's a great place to live for a photographer, but as you can see from my galleries I like to venture further afield occasionally. I have been a photographer for over 30 years, and always remember the best piece of photographic advice I was given. Some years ago I worked with a very elderley and wise photographer and he said to me on one occasion "you are looking but not seeing". Are these rented or privately owned David? They make wonderful designs. Nothing quite like this in the US.

I believe some are private and some are rented from the council, depending which beach they are located on. Not sure about these particular examples. I think they may be council rented, because as winter approaches they are taken away by the council and placed in storage, until the following spring.
