Description
Magpie Mine is a derelict lead mine sitting on bleak, open, windswept moorland near the Derbyshire village of Sheldon. Before finally closing in 1954 it had a colorful 200 year history of bonanzas and bankruptcies, disputes and fights resulting in the murder of three workers from a rival mine, and a widow's curse supposedly still active to this day.

Thank you so much as usual Sandi for your very kind comments. This is a very bleak, spooky spot when getting to dusk, I didn't wait around too long !
