Artist's Description
Named after the nearby church of Santa Trinita, this bridge is probably the third oldest in Florence, although it has had to be rebuilt many times, the latest rebuild being after Nazi bombing 1n 1944.
At the centre of each arch is a white marble cartouche, and at either end are two statues from 1608, representing the four seasons. Following the bombing in 1944 the statues were retrieved from the river, but the head of Spring has never been found.
