Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

I agree with Kathleen, David, 'stunning', and I don't use that word lightly! Wonderful work. Appreciate your description, as well. Fvl.

David Birchall replied:

Thank you very much Brooks. I have been here many times as it's only about 15 miles from where I live, but this day was the best I have ever seen it, perfect mirror reflections on the still water, wonderful!

That's a great compliment Eliza, thank you very much. I'm lucky enough to live in Derbyshire and it is beautiful, especially the Peak District national park which is so named for obvious reasons. This image was taken this morning with the perfect combination of a light snowfall and a stunning clear blue sky. Within an hour the sky had clouded over and I went home happy!

David, this work is so pure and gentle! I've never been to Derbyshire, but I've heard of its natural beauty. Your work shows it magnificently. L+F

Artist's Description

Winter reflections in the Derwent Valley, Derbyshire, England. The reservoirs in Derbyshire's Derwent Valley are famous for the part they played in the historic Dambuster Raids during world war two. Because the terrain is very similar to the targeted German dam sites, the specialist flight training was carried out at the Derwent Dams. In autumn 2014 two Lancaster bombers, a spitfire and a hurricane flew over the Derwent Valley reservoirs in tribute to the brave airmen who lost their lives in the Dambuster raids.

About David Birchall

David Birchall

Originally from Manchester in England, but now live near the foot of the Pennines, regarded as one of the most scenic areas of outstanding natural beauty in Great Britain. It's a great place to live for a photographer, but as you can see from my galleries I like to venture further afield occasionally. I have been a photographer for over 30 years, and always remember the best piece of photographic advice I was given. Some years ago I worked with a very elderley and wise photographer and he said to me on one occasion "you are looking but not seeing". That has always stuck with me, and I try and remember it each time I look through the viewfinder. Thank you for visiting, and I hope you find something here you like. Please enjoy your...
