Description
Under the watchful eye of a local policeman there to ensure crowd control and safety, and in a scene recreating the drama and nostalgia of the steam railway age, preserved locomotives number 44871 and 45699 Galatea depart from Sheffield station in Yorkshire, England, hauling charter special "The Tin Bath".
This charter was so named because it passed through large areas of Yorkshire and Lancashire which were former coal mining communities. Traditional at the end of shift in earlier times miners would return to their cottages and wash themselves in a tin bath in front of the fire. Sadly the coal mining industry in England is now consigned to history and the coal these locomotives are burning is imported from as far afield as Russia and China.
