you are welcome David I had an old public house that was opposite a small hotel within walking distance of where i live first the public house went (converted into houses) and now the hotel is going to more or less demolished to make way for a care home i have lived in Chelmsford since 2003 and normally keep a kind of record of places i see as within a few years up pops new flats and so on

It's a throwback David to the times when every small village and hamlet in England had a traditional pub. Sadly they are becoming fewer and fewer, being taxed into oblivion. Luckily there are still some good ones in Derbyshire where I live, and I visit as often as I can to show my support !
