Preserved steam locomotive class Caprotti Standard number 73129 at work on the Midland Railway heritage line in Derbyshire, England.
The image was taken on !7th January 2016 which was the final day of service for 73129 before enforced withdrawal for major overhaul, due to expiry of her boiler safety certificate. It is unlikely that 73129 will run again in the foreseeable future.
Originally from Manchester in England, but now live near the foot of the Pennines, regarded as one of the most scenic areas of outstanding natural beauty in Great Britain. It's a great place to live for a photographer, but as you can see from my galleries I like to venture further afield occasionally. I have been a photographer for over 30 years, and always remember the best piece of photographic advice I was given. Some years ago I worked with a very elderley and wise photographer and he said to me on one occasion "you are looking but not seeing".
