Description
Steam locomotive 6015 stands as a preserved static exhibit on the main street of Jasper, Western Alberta, Canada. 6015 was one of 16 Mountain Type locomotives built by the Canadian Locomotive company of Kingston, Ontario in 1923, and used by Canadian National for fast freight and passenger services. Typically 6015 could run at 100mph through the rugged Canadian Rockies, and consume up to 10,000 gallons of water and 17 tons of coal on a journey. Replaced by diesels in the late 1950's, 6015 remains as a reminder of the time when these giants of steam ruled the rails.

Ah, yes, David....I recognize this beauty...! They were magnificent giants weren't they? I wish we still had them. I can't believe they could travel at 100mph through the Rocky Mountains! Wow! That's amazing! Great shot of this beautiful old girl, David! :)) L
