Description
The Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England. Designed by the brilliant Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the bridge spans the Avon Gorge in the city. The bridge was opened in 1864 after taking 33 years to build, and stands at a height of 245 ft above high tide water level of the river in the gorge below. Sadly the designer died before his masterpiece was completed, and construction was finished 8 years after his death.
