Chatsworth House is a stately home in Derbyshire, England. It is the the seat of the Duke of Devonshire, and has been home to the cavendish family since 1549.
The house sits on the east bank of the River Derwent looking across low hills that divide the Derwent and Wye Valleys.
The house is set in extensive parkland and contains a unique collection of priceless paintings, furniture, Old Master drawings, neoclassical sculptures, books, and other artefacts.
Chatsworth House has been selected as the U.K's favourite country house on several occasions.

Originally from Manchester in England, but now live near the foot of the Pennines, regarded as one of the most scenic areas of outstanding natural beauty in Great Britain. It's a great place to live for a photographer, but as you can see from my galleries I like to venture further afield occasionally. I have been a photographer for over 30 years, and always remember the best piece of photographic advice I was given. Some years ago I worked with a very elderley and wise photographer and he said to me on one occasion "you are looking but not seeing".
