Description
Preserved steam locomotive 34052 Lord Dowding on the seawall line at Dawlish, Devon, England. This particular stretch of line is regarded as one of the most scenic in England, and was severely damaged by winter storms in February 2014, resulting in the closure of the line for many weeks. In reality the locomotive is 34046 Braunton, wearing the identity of scrapped classmate 34052.

Nice POV, David. Unusual not to see the waves breaking over the train; makes a good allover shot.
David Birchall replied:
Thank you Francis. The sea was calm on this day, but I would like to get a similar shot with dramatic waves.

Thank you Michaela. The Dawlish seawall is an iconic location for steam railway photographers, and I always visit when I'm in Devon.

Thank you very much Denise, very kind of you to say so. I must admit I was pleased with this one, more so as it was my first visit to Dawlish for about 15 years !
